Rumor has it that this was done by the then-President of Seattle Atheists.

Failblog sometimes posts pictures with WIN instead of FAIL. I’m disappointed they didn’t make that a WIN.

  2. Mark D says:

Have you accepted Jesus as your personal shopper?

  3. Nick says:

They can’t have been that good; he didn’t stay dead, after all.

  4. Lolpocalypse says:

Reminds me of “Christ died for our Dunkin’ Donuts”.

I love the commercialization of Christianity. The quickest way to destroy the integrity of any institution is to let it be used as a money making tool, just look at what passes for news programs these days.

I was just thinking about a particular close relative of mine. Extremely brain-washed, devout, ultra-conservative Christian who gets up before the crack of dawn on the day after Thanksgiving to take advantage of the Black Friday sales. She does this…..religiously and with great fervor. All seems so … non-Christian to me, but I keep my mouth shut and just nod and say, “mmm, hmm..”

      • Mark D says:

Thanksgiving is not a Christian holiday, neither is black Friday.

        • Nerrin says:

Christmas, of which Black Friday is widely considered the first day of the serious shopping season, however…

Or, since subtlety on the internet works about as well as a purity pledge… it’s about the rampant commercialization. Christ’s birth as an occasion for mass indulgence in the most blatant, naked materialism in human history. The Christians do as much or more than anyone else to profane their own holy event.

        • FAITH says:

Thanksgiving really is. The motive the pilgrims had for thier “Thanksgiving” was a feast to give thanks to God. It just has become more commercialized over the years.

I would think that the “real” Jesus Christ would only die for home-baked cookies, not some manufactured Safeway crumb-discs.

  7. Joe Skeptic says:

I love low prices and I love chocolate chip cookies. Life is good.

  8. Siveambrai says:

    *dies laughing*

  9. You know, leprechauns and Santa and pilgrims and the Easter Bunny have their own holiday.. I suppose its time we gave Jeebus one, too.

  10. Objectifier says:

The question is, was it credited to the local atheist leader because the sale backfired and would it have been had it been a success?
