What’s up with dinosaurs? It seems like their bones are in the ground to trick us out of believing in creation.

I have heard this to many times to go with it being a full Poe. I Have known a few YEC and that is what they claim they are there for, at least the ones I know have.
Those bones are tricky.
Is it God or Satan who is responsible for the dino bones trickery? I can never remember.
There is no “trickery” merely two different realms. “In the beginning God made the heavens (the spiritual realm) and the earth (the natural, physical realm). Genesis 1.1
In the fall of man(kind) we succombed to the lower realm of the (physical) senses and the spiritual aspect of our being (the inner sanctum where He resides) receded far into our interior. So much that unless one be “quickened” (awakened from the adamic dream, er nightmare) he will think himself alone, Godless, orphaned and can not see into the things of the eternal (spiritual) realm, he regards such a proposition as childish, beneath him.
But if the True child in him be born anew…
This ain’t one body’s story.
It’s the story of us all.
We got it mouth-to-mouth.
You got to listen it and ‘member.
‘Cause what you hears today
you got to tell the birthed tomorrow.
I’m looking behind us now. . .
. . .across the count of time. . .
. . .down the long haul,
into history back.
I sees the end what were the start.
It’s Pox-Eclipse, full of pain!
And out of it were birthed
crackling dust and fearsome time.
It were full-on winter. . .
. . .and Mr. Dead chasing them all.
But one he couldn’t catch.
That were Captain Walker.
He gathers up a gang, takes to the air
and flies to the sky!
So they left their homes,
said bidey-bye to the high-scrapers. . .
. . .and what were left of the knowing,
they left behind.
Some say the wind just stoppered.
Others reckon it were a gang
called Turbulence.
And after the wreck. . .
. . .some had been jumped by Mr. Dead. . .
. . .but some had got the luck,
and it leads them here.
One look and they’s got the hots for it.
They word it “Planet Earth. ”
And they says, “We don’t need
the knowing. We can live here. ”
“We don’t need the knowing.
We can live here. ”
Time counts and keeps counting.
They gets missing what they had.
They get so lonely for the
high-scrapers and the video.
And they does the pictures so they’d
‘member all the knowing that they lost.
‘Member this?
Tomorrow-morrow Land!
‘Member this?
The River of Light!
‘Member this?
Skyraft!
‘Member this?
Captain Walker!
‘Member this?
Mrs. Walker!
Then Captain Walker picked them
of an age and good for a long haul.
They counted twenty, and that were them.
The great leaving.
“Rescue party departed
at first light. . .
. . .Ied by Flight Captain G.L. Walker. ”
“May God have mercy on our souls. ”
They said bidey-bye to them
what they’d birthed.
And from the nothing
they looked back. . .
. . .and Captain Walker hollered,
“Wait, one of us will come. ”
“Wait, one of us will come. ”
And somebody did come.
Walker!
hahahaha
Thanks Aor! That was exactly the type of reply-in-kind to use for any John C post.
Thanks, John. That certainly cleared it up.
John, I don’t see what ANY of that has to do with fossils.
Nick, the point is that ultimate reality is not found within the temporal, visible realm of matter. Christ said “judge not by appearances” meaning that these physical eyes do not tell the whole story, are not always trustworthy. That this life in many ways is an illusion and that there is another dimension, a higher, spiritual realm where truth originates from. That dimension also happens to be within us, albeit cloaked in secrecy, mystery until we awaken to our true identities.
So John C You have no Real explanation as to the origin of fossils. Your thought (or belief) is that we are to simply ignore them and not ask questions?
Erick….no, they are very real evidence for the previous existance of dinosaurs no doubt about it.
So then, If the Bible is the Infallible word of God and the Earth is only 6000 years old, then please explain this “very real evidence for the previous existence of dinosaurs”.
I never said the earth was only 6000 years old. You’re assuming things about myself based on historical norms for debates between those called creationists and evolutionists. I dont fit either label, in fact despise labeling altogether. Neither do I care to “debate” at all.
My apologies for making the assumption that as an overly Preachy person you would fall into the “The Bible said so and that’s it” crowd.
While I acknowledge that our five senses are wildly inadequate to observe all extant phenomena, we’re developing tools in order to see the unseen. We can now detect everything from quarks to the background microwave radiation of the cosmos itself. And in all that time, everything we’ve ever supposed to have a supernatural, otherworldly, or “spiritual” origin has turned out to simply be the result of a natural, physical process that we were ill-equipped to understand when we first encountered it.
If you have evidence of this reality beyond reality, this spirit world you claim to know exists, I would challenge you to present it.
Well, that spiritual world is out there, but as it doesn’t interact with our physical world, we can’t know anything about it, but through revelation. Quarks and everything are not a valid comparison, as they are indeed physical.
Moreover, do you really believe in quarks? How do you know they exist, and they weren’t just made up by scientists?
ough… headache…I’ll go take my pills…
You can know for yourself the present reality of the kingdom within in the very Way in which He said you could know and find the Way.
Get a grip, John. If all you are going to do is proselytize then you may as well go preach on the streets.
John, I asked you for evidence, not vacuous pseudo-philosophy. Freewheeling through your own mind like some kind of acid-addled neuronaut is no kind of way to learn anything of value, and it certainly is not on the level of demonstrable evidence. We skeptics have much higher standards which need to be met before we’re convinced, and personal internal revelation just doesn’t cut it.
“Neuronaut” is now my new favorite word.
It’s astounding the lengths these folks will go to in order to justify the lie they have based their lives on. How difficult believing the truth/reality must be for them.
John C:
“There is no “trickery” merely two different realms. “In the beginning God made the heavens (the spiritual realm) and the earth (the natural, physical realm). Genesis 1.1″

Does Genesis 1.1 contain the portions of your comment that are in parentheses? Are you a believer or an atheist? If you are a believer, you must have big balls to add your own ‘clarifications’ to “God’s” words (and “God” can’t be all that if he needs the likes of you to clarify his words). Additionally, your comment is weak in it’s assumption, as “heavens” has always, ALWAYS, been synonymous with the sky – not with any internal, spiritual aspect of the human animal.
Oh, Cletus…. You don’t know what you’ve done….
*braces self for impact of bullshit bigger than King-Kong’s first dump of the day from John C*
Love ya too Custy!! :)
They do say comedy is the key to timing – I genuinly did laugh out loud :D
King Kong’s Dump: Made of Win.
Cletus…the “heavens” means the Kingly realm of spiritual reign and rule, the seat of order of things eternal and consummately perfect. That realm is within us as Christ said when He began to teach on the kingdom of heaven and the listeners asked, “where is this kingdom”? He replied “the kingdom does not come with observation (you can’t see it with these natural eyes) for the kingdom of heaven is within you” Luke 17.21. There is more to man(kind) than meets the eyes.
There is no such thing as the “human animal”, you only THINK there is, so to you…there is, all the very best.
Hate to say I told you so….
God put them there to test the strength of our faith in Him!
this reminds me of a recent article I read where during the prime reign of the dinosaurs a lot of the land around them was covered in a vast amount of dung…. poop. The brontosaurus would poop literally tons of feces all the time. Some scientists suspect that viruses and the insects that carried them flourished in this poop and greatly helped their extinction. If we went back in time we would probably encounter huge swaths of poop fields!
As far as the religious aspect goes – why limit yourself to questioning bones? Why not question the billions upon billions of other galaxies? Ask yourself: would God make anything in vane? Then take it a step further and ask yourself if the maker of these galaxies would concern itself with petty ancient tribes, dwell in mountains, get angry etc. Kudos to Josh K for having the courage to question. They will try to suppress your questioning – to which you must respond that it is your God given reason that compels you to ask – to seek – to question. When I asked why would God get angry – the response was far more telling than the question.
Custador you are absolutely correct in your choice of words. BULLSHIT! I sometimes cannot believe the arrogance from these God fearing BS artists. They say things with such great conviction you yourself almost want to believe it. It is sickening how confused these people really are. They know they can’t defend the Bible with a literal translation so they use huge amounts of BS, reading between the lines, modern extrapolation and interpretation to their advantage or should I say demise. They ensure you that what they are saying is unequivocally the truth and there is no debating the truth. But yet they deny there is no other meaning of said text even though their religion consists of thousands of different denominations all because they disagree on a number of texts…how is that for irony? What I would like to know is on what authority do they have to interpret said text the way they do? If they say God then why all different denominations?
“worry about both the myriad galaxies and concern itself with every ant in existence. One thing doesn’t exclude the possibility of the other if Gawd is infinite.”
ahh yes but it wouldn’t “worry” and wouldn’t be “concerned” would it – if you listen carefully “God” is almost always described by the believers as being extremely human like. Typically a loving heavenly father figure. This, to me, is the most childish and absolutely brain dead way to imagine an omnipotent being – sinking it down to our pitiful level. It is also telling when “God” or the afterlife is described in the context of our 5 senses – purely for surviving on this planet.
Probably not, and I’d think not, but it’s not impossible for it. Y’know? It could be everything simultaneously. That’s what omnipotent is all about, after all. Maybe it cares, maybe it doesn’t care. Maybe it’s so utterly powerful that everything has significance. Simultaneously. And everything matters.
It’s an interesting mind trick, if a shallow one.
And I agree entirely. Trying to define an utterly alien creature in terms of humanity is like projecting patterns in the stars – it’s a common mistake in fiction, too (and the one thing I love the most about Stanislaw Lem).
Because if it is a truly alien and inhuman creature, we shouldn’t put much stock in or really care at all about what it wants. It’s like caring what Cthulu wants, or taking seriously Cthulu’s thoughts on morality.
I think part of Christianity’s powerful appeal is that it comes with something of an anti-Cthulu guarantee: their God has been human at least once and so knows (sort of) what it’s like to be one. Makes the clearly terrifyingly amoral behavior in the older sections of the book somewhat easier to ignore. Sort of.
What I find even more interesting (ie: flawed) about JC’s theory is: if the Truth with a capital T comes from inside, why don’t people spontaneously discover it? They always need a missionary, or to read the Bible or whatever. And even that isn’t enough, as interpretations vary so much to the point of contradicting each other.
So: if the Truth comes from inside, why uncontacted people who never heard about it never spontaneously convert?
Some of the replies on that thread are hillarious. Frightening, but hillarious.
I’d consider what pleases Cthulu. I want to be eaten first… ;)
But seriously, methinks it’s a human thing. Aliens are humanoids who act and think like us. Gods are angry, jealous, petty, love and hate. Hell, people project human behavior even on other animals.
Maybe it’s just how we are programmed to make sense of the world: by making it all about us.
I am wondering if the Earth is 6000 years old and dinosaurs get fossilized, then where are the mising fossiles? Like Rabbits, dogs, cats , humans, elephants, lions? You should also find many fossiels of these in the layers of the dinosaurs if these creatures were created from the beginning and did not evolve?
