Patton Oswalt on a terrible, terrible Christmas song:

I found this particularly amusing because I’ve helped Newsong setup numerous times for concerts. Never liked their music, though. Just thought it was a nice thing to do.

    nice
i thought i was the only one who hated that stupid song

  2. wintermute says:

It would be better if the video was footage of him actually doing the stand-up, rather than random word-association crap…

  3. Fentwin says:

    Excellent.

A little NSFW, just to let you know. I’m sitting in my office fumbling for the volume control as the sweet little old lady across the hall gives me the stink eye. :)

@cynic: me, too! I hated that song as a Christian. I thought the music was terrible and the lyrics depressing–and not naturally depressing, like “we’re going to purposely write a depressing song today!” depressing. And I totally laughed when he imitated the voice, because I thought the vocals were horrible, too! :D

Wow! makes me thankful I never was a christian so I didn’t listen to “christian muzak” but the video was enjoyable. I may have to share it with my sister-in-law who just sent me a jesus bouquet on FB =)
    naw, maybe not….

  6. Unladenswallow says:

What’s more disturbing “Christmas Shoes” or Glenn Beck’s “The Christmas Sweater”?

  7. Jerdog says:

“I was in line buying some christmas shoes.” *Pause* You can stop there. It’s obvious where the song is going and I’m not sitting through it.

  8. random guy says:

“I died for your sins, but those pumps are unforgivable.” – LMAO

I love Patton Oswalt and I never heard this routine. Thanks for that.
