I learned about a new one (to me) last night. I am a regular at a particular Chinese food establishment and brought them Christmas cookies (they were expecting them as I had brought some last year!) and the manager was explaining he saved some cookies his grandmother had made for a Chinese holiday called “Winter is Coming.” He taught me in Chinese, but I forget how to say it, but it means “winter is coming,” and celebrated like a solstice – I found it, “Dong Zhi”. One of his chefs carved the top of a pumpkin to look like a flower, and he described a carrot made into a dragon that he also made. Unfortunately, his staff ate the cookies he saved for me. Fortunately, he comped my take-out order! WINTER IS COMING is my new favorite holiday.
JWs can drink. My next door neighbor (a cool JW) is always having other JWs over for backyard parties and they down plenty of this Polish beer he gets. Their conversations are plenty interesting to listen to.
Wow, I really need to know what show that is. The quirky humor (and Chevy Chase!) is right up my alley, and the fact that they’re toying with the diversities only makes it even better.
“Agnostic: the lazy man’s atheist.”
Spot on.
I can’t decide if I’m offended by that.
Lol!
I don’t have enough evidence either way to figure out if that’s offensive.
We can’t know, so it must be 50/50.
Pascal’s Wager! ;-)
WIN.
“You now owe me two thousand energon cubes.”
I admire the man just for being able to say that with a straight face.
He’s Chevy Chase! He can say anything with a straight face!
I’m pretty sure that’s the only face he’s got.
“I like how they throw paperballs at the agnostic.”
Heyyy!
*throws a paperball*
Come on, nomad. Isn’t it time you got out of the closet?
Sorry, I’ve decided to become a Mytheist instead.
Happy winter holiday of your choosing to all.

Merry Dong Zhi everyone!
I thought “Winter is Coming” were the words of the Starks of Winterfell…
