I really enjoyed “The Values we all stand for”. It made some interesting points. I never knew that the original saying on American money was “Out of many, one”. If only it could change back!
It was “E pluribus unum,” which is Latin for “Out of many, One.” But this was never actually the official motto of the U.S. (although Wikipedia describes it as a “de facto motto”). Since 1956, the official motto has been “In God We Trust,” which is totally ridiculous as it is entirely not what the U.S. is about.
“E pluribus unum” is still on all (or at least most) coins, and is the only motto on the obverse of the Seal of the United States, with “Annuit cœptis” (which is slightly religious, I suppose) and “Novus ordo seclorum” on the reverse. (“E pluribus unum” also appears on the seals for the president, vice president, congress, house, senate, and supreme court.)

Thanks. I watched the video.
Any video by evid3nc3 is worth watching by definition. I suspect that most of you will have seen the Deconversion series, but I’ll say it anyway: Watch it. Here is the last part, Deconversion 2.6, which draws the whole series together.
UPDATE: 2.7 is up now. Your timing was pretty ironic, actually.
Aha! I was fooled by the title of 2.6 – “The End”.
