What is the point of a prayer? To ask God for something? I thought God has everything all planned out from the beginning of time. Why bother asking him about anything if what you will get are already decided by the big guy? Will your prayers change his mind?
It’s like school lunch, if it is pizza day then why bother asking for a burrito?
If you listen to the way fundies describe god he’s an ass who get a kick out of people begging and groveling . You would think that an all powerful supreme being will have some more self esteem and wont be so desperate for people to tell him how much they f**king love him and how great he is 3 times a day (5 for allah who is a particularly needy bi*@h).
I never understood “grace” before a meal. As I said to some people when I was well on my way to apostasy, “I’m pretty sure God knows just how happy I am to eat this food–it’s usually evidenced by me eating the food.”
This reminds me of the following quote: “When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised that the Lord doesn’t work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.”
yeah, and?
;-)
Beat me to it.
