You know, when Jen McCreight of Blag Hag started boobquake, I never thought it would lead to this. It looks like some Saudi clerics have finally made peace with boobs.
Saudi Clerics Advocate Adult Breast-Feeding
Women in Saudi Arabia should give their breast milk to male colleagues and acquaintances in order to avoid breaking strict Islamic law forbidding mixing between the sexes, two powerful Saudi clerics have said. They are at odds, however, over precisely how the milk should be conveyed.
The notion is that when a man drinks a woman’s breast milk, he becomes a symbolic member of her family. This means that the man and woman can work together in close quarters without violating the tenants of Wahhabi Islam that women and unrelated men should not interact.
This fatwa is not without controversy:
[Sheik] Al Obeikan, who made the statement after being asked on TV about a 2007 fatwa issued by an Egyptian scholar about adult breast-feeding, said that the breast milk ought to be pumped out and given to men in a glass.
But his remarks were followed by an announcement by another high-profile sheik, Abi Ishaq Al Huwaini, who said that men should suckle the breast milk directly from a woman’s breast.
Abi Ishaq Al Huwaini: man of God or dirty old fraud, you decide.
Thankfully, folks like Eman Al Nafjan of Saudiwoman’s Weblog are speaking out against fetishistic old men with religious power:
“The whole issue just shows how clueless men are,” blogger Eman Al Nafjan wrote on her website. “All this back and forth between sheiks and not one bothers to ask a woman if it’s logical, let alone possible to breastfeed a grown man five fulfilling breast milk meals.
“Moreover, the thought of a huge hairy face at a woman’s breast does not evoke motherly or even brotherly feelings. It could go from the grotesque to the erotic but definitely not maternal.”
Al Nafjan said many in the country were appalled by the fatwa.
“We have many important issues that need discussing,” Al Nafjan told AOL News Friday. “It’s ridiculous to spend time talking about adult breast-feeding.”
Thank you, Al Nafjan. And I’d just like to point out that it’s not ALL men who are this clueless. Though I probably haven’t done my case any favors by writing about this.

When I first read about this a week ago I thought it was just one cleric that had come up with the “breast feeding” interpretation of the Koran. I was also under the impression that the fatwah was taken back almost as soon as it was pronounced citing a “misinterpretation of the Koran” or some such.

Strangely, I do understand the idea, but that in no way stops my head from exploding after reading this. That is some crazy religious devotion right there.
oh yes, logic. Apparently you can’t be anywhere near a woman without losing control, ripping her cloths and doing her right there. But just suck her boobs a few times and all desire is gone. Now me, I’ll think it will be the other way around but that’s probably because I’m an evil soulless atheist.

No, a member of many cow families.
By eating a burger it makes you one with the cow just like eating jesus does. And no one had to magic a cookie for you to do it.
Further subjugation of women. Disgusting.
When I was still a Christian and we would have potlucks at church, there was this church member that was rumored to use her own breast milk in her cooking, so it was always a matter of grave importance to find out what dish she brought and avoid it.
As far as commenting on the actual post: this idea is just so entertaining that I can’t help but support it.
Women know that not all men are this clueless. I have noticed a correlation between the words “cleric” and “clueless” in sentences, however.
Hmmmm…First the 70 virgins in Heaven waiting to fornicate with me, and now I can suck on women’s breasts to please God and get to Heaven to have my orgies.
I’m beginning to see why Islam is growing fast in parts of the world.
I know this is slightly off topic, but why is that that so many people are disgusted by the thought of a woman’s milk, but not of a cow’s? That just seems very backwards to me.

I’ve written about this Fatwa in my “Fatwa of the Day” segment (http://freethinkinglebanon.blogspot.com/2010/06/fatwa-of-day-2.html).. There aren’t really any limits to the oppression of women in Islam. I wonder what more can be thought-of to dehumanize even more the female gender in this religion.
