“Barack Obama is the worst President in history.” How can someone say that with a straight face? This kid is too much.
He’s not trying to be funny, but he is.

Wow.. even people who don’t necessarily even like Obama have to admit that he isn’t the worst president.
LOL! Because Dan Quayle had such a stellar reputation????
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaaahahahaaaaa!!!!!!!

Hahahaa! Lloyd Bentsen makes me damn proud to be a Texan! :D

Classic. Some of those are truly awe-inspiring.
The same Ben Quayle from the who are these girls add.

This chuckle-head is standing for the same party that selected the stupidest woman in America as a VP candidate – don’t think we’ve seen the last of him.
CoffeeJedi’s link above mentions that. That Dan Quayle was the prototype for Sarah Palin.
Maybe Quayle and Palin should mate – might be an interessting offspring…
I’m afraid that if these two ever come close to each other the concentrated stupidity may be enough to create a black hole of stupid that will suck the entire universe.
I don’t see what this has to do with faith, religion, skepticism, etc. Why do all the good atheist blogs have to post this political crap too? It makes sense if the subject is somehow related to religion, but in this case it’s just another lame attempt at republican bashing.
Ummmmm hello??? The RELIGIOUS RIGHT??? The “FAMILY VALUES” crowd??? Duh.
And what did he say about family values, religion, or any of those topics in this video? Nothing. He isn’t promoting teaching religion in public school, allowing the posting of the ten commandments in public places, promoting homeopathy…none of that. He’s just saying that the president is the worst ever (which is up to debate but almost certainly not true) and that he wants to change things in Washington. He may be a religious nut for all I know, but that isn’t what this video is about.
I know liberals love to bash conservatives every single chance you get, but it gets old. It gets old listening to conservatives bash liberals, too, by the way.
Well, then. You clearly haven’t’ done your homework. You are unaware of the scandals surrounding Ben Quayle, and they are most certainly “family values” issues. Why don’t you do a little research, and maybe then you’ll get it.
Indeed, for a modern republican, he has a HUGE skeleton in his closet (besides not actually being from Arizona!):

If you are a skeptic, surely you must see that the majority of the current Republican platform is antithetical to secularists?
Sure, lots of us love the idea of small government, personal liberty, and low taxes. But when was the last time any of those things were the actual goal of the Republican party?
The only issues that the parties differ on any more are social issues, and the Republicans are wrong on every single social issue.
They’re wrong on every single social issue? Really? Completely wrong? Wow, that’s open minded.
I still don’t see what this particular video has to do with anything this blog is supposed to be about…. “religion, science, and skepticism”.
Name a social issue that is a party plank where the current Republican party is right.
*anti-choice, check
*anti-gay rights, check
*anti-affordable health care, check
*anti education, check
I have no interest in being open to limiting a woman’s right to choose, or blocking gays from enjoying equal rights, or watching creationism stuffed into science classes.
I mean, I’m even a fiscal conservative. The Republicans could make it hard for me to decide by being, you know, fiscally responsible. But when both parties are equally fiscally irresponsible, all that’s left is the social issues.
*anti-choice – I agree; most republicans have this dead wrong
*anti-gay rights – agree again
* anti-affordable health care – I have serious doubts about our governments ability to make anything more affordable, more efficient, or more effective
* anti-education – what does this mean?
I know quite a few republicans who don’t agree with the official party-line, so it’s dangerous to group them all into the same stereotype.
I didn’t want to get into a debate about the issues. I, too, am a fiscal conservative but increasingly left-leaning on social issues (libertarian is probably a better label if I had to choose). I should have kept my mouth shut, I guess. Daniel can post whatever he wants on it and I enjoy reading most of it. Since most atheists/skeptics/etc are liberal, I’m sure the majority of his audience likes this kind of thing. I just get tired of the random attacks on conservatives/republicans just because of who/what they are. It’s like listening to my coworkers rip apart democrats just for fun without having any real substance to their argument.
Let’s talk about a real issue and leave the “I see that Ben has inherited his father’s IQ” and “dumb and dumber” arguments out of it.
I mentioned how the current Republican party is anti-education. They are the party of creationism in the classroom.
“I know quite a few republicans who don’t agree with the official party-line, so it’s dangerous to group them all into the same stereotype.”
I agree.
“I, too, am a fiscal conservative but increasingly left-leaning on social issues (libertarian is probably a better label if I had to choose).”
Then, and I am asking honestly, what’s left if you are socially liberal? Neither party is fiscally responsible, so it can’t be the Republican’s fiscal policies.
Let’s talk about a real issue and leave the “I see that Ben has inherited his father’s IQ” and “dumb and dumber” arguments out of it.
@ A skeptic,
Well pardon the frack out of me Mr. Straightjacket. It’s abundantly clear you have a one track mind, tunnel vision if you will, and it’s painfully obvious you have zero tolerance for any point of view other than your own. How sad of an existence it must be for anyone in your life having to put up with such an inflexible person who possesses absolutely no sense of humor whatsoever. I’ll just go crawl off to my corner and stfu. Happy now?
Also:
“I still don’t see what this particular video has to do with anything this blog is supposed to be about…. “religion, science, and skepticism”.”
You don’t get to decide what the blog is about. It doesn’t mention food, either, but Daniel has posted blog entries about food.
Hell, the fact that Daniel lets his pet British Bulldog here post on his blog is fairly good evidence that his blog is fairly open to variety!
Hush now, or we’ll put you back in your box.
Only if you want to get bitten ;-)
I see… shut up and take it, then? I didn’t say he couldn’t post stuff like this, did I? I said I didn’t like it. Get over it.
I don’t see where anyone said that. You said you felt like this post was not in keeping with what the blog is supposed to be about. I pointed out that 1) you don’t get to decide that, and 2) this is hardly the first post that isn’t about “religion, science, and skepticism”.
I don’t expect anyone to shut up and take anything. Do you want people who read your comment to shut up and take it?
No…shut up, take it…or go read another blog that more closely resembles your particular worldview. Or maybe, you know, get off the Internet and go dance a field of daffodils or play with your dog/cat/pet of your choosing.
Are you a skeptic or aseptic? Whether or not this is Republican bashing, you certainly can’t say it’s lame. Quail is lame, and Quail stands for the rights of the religious right to shove their righteous shit right down our throats. It’s relevant. ‘Nuff said!
Quail are indeed lame, but Ben Quayle is the relevant question here.
Oh, he’s lame too.
Ah yes, please pardon my idiotic gaffe. I meant Quayle. { blush }
WHA??? Quail are delicious, and don’t you forget it!!!!
(LOL!)
Everyone’s bashed you for your comment (rightly so, IMHO), but at 23 seconds he says he’s going to knock the hell out of Washington. So he plans to impose his religious views on everyone, tell everyone that they should live the way he dictates, because he knows best. No thanks.
Wow that’s first time I think I’ve ever laughed at that serious of a political ad.
I see that Ben has inherited his father’s IQ and sharp witty style of delivery. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
Sudden sobriety sets in as I imagine the possiblitiy of Ben and Sarah getting elected to the offices of Pres and VP a few years down the road — talk about Dumb and Dumber!
If that ever happens, I’m leaving the planet.
Ben Quayle is running for Congress? As in, the son of DAN QUAYLE? OK, test #1…spell “potato”…and NO peeking for the answer.
Unfair, but funny.
Why unfair? Did dad get to peek?
Actually yeah, Dan Quayle was reading off an incorrectly spelled wordsheet. Nevertheless, he obviously should have spotted the error.
This is diabeetus by the way. Not sure why my avatar didn’t show up.
What was that duck move all about!?
All three generations of my family have benefited from the health Care bill.
I guess by tax cartels in DC he means the folks who want the middle class to pay a larger percentage of their income in taxes than the wealthiest 2% and corporations.
Worst political ad in history.
Twit, just like pappa.
Obama is only hated by about half of Americans it seems. Compare that to Bush where Bush was hated by about half of Americans plus the majority of the rest of the world.
As far as the complainer who said “I just get tired of the random attacks on conservatives/republicans just because of who/what they are. It’s like listening to my coworkers rip apart democrats just for fun without having any real substance to their argument.”
The “attacks” are not random. Of course it is because of who they are and what they believe. Would you rather it be based on sexual orientation or religious views (oh wait conservatives/republicans do that…). There is substance to the arguments as well.
/ Not American
/ anti-Capitalist
/ lived in the USA for a few years and it was not for me
/ no hate towards Americans.
.
Well, the idiot doesn’t fall far from the tree, it seems.
If a dick could have a dick, it would be this guy…oh wait…he did.
