Cult Group May Have Plans for Mass Suicide

Uh oh:

A “cult-like” group of 13 Salvadorans — including eight children — is missing in southern California after leaving behind notes indicating plans to commit mass suicide, authorities said.

The children in the group are ages 3 to 17, said Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

“The letters essentially state that they [missing persons] are all going to heaven shortly to meet Jesus and their deceased relatives,” the California governor’s office said. “Numerous letters found say goodbye to their relatives. It is believed, through further investigation, that the missing persons’ intentions are to commit mass suicide.”

Religion sucks.

Update: Thankfully, they’ve been found.

I hope they find them safe. And I hope they prosecute the parents / guardians for child abuse.

I wonder what the news means when they say “cult-like”. Could there be a more wishy-washy term?

    Take away everyone under 18.
Let the rest go to complete their destiny.
I do not believe in stopping adults from doing what they want to themselves.
Stupidity is the only sin and the payment is swift and merciless.
