    What brand is that?

  2. John says:

That’s not Jesus Camp. That’s a classroom giving thanks to the Great Leader in Pyongyang.

I don’t understand why anyone would want to do that sort of thing to themselves or their children. It does not look at all pleasant. If I had children, I don’t think I could stand to see them so utterly freaked out, but somehow this sort of thing makes parents proud and is seen as a badge of faith and an indicator of a job well done. And many children will do it, however horrible it might be for them, because they constantly seek approval and reassurance that they are doing the right thing and are fitting in.

I remember memorising prayers and procedures for my faith growing up – nothing as powerful as speaking in tongues and having seizures, but still things that were supposedly important and basically magic spells for keeping me safe from harm (didn’t work) and my soul going in the right direction. It was like walking a tightrope, one slip and you’re into the abyss. Forever. That is not the sort of pressure we should be putting on children. They have enough performance pressure from the demands of real life.

  4. MahouSniper says:

Is it bad that I can’t tell if they’re speaking in tongues or just speaking?

  5. ambisinister says:

let them use the bathroom, they look desperate

  6. nazani14 says:

Wow, they need to work on their glossolalia. American fundies use at least 2 vowels and 4 consonants.

  7. Ben says:

Having lived in South Korea for a year, this video is not that surprising to me, although disturbing. Christians in SK, who constitute about a third of the population, are mostly evangelical, and influenced by missionaries and American christianity. They are therefore prone to wear their faith on their sleeve.

Nowhere else in the world have I been approached so often randomly on the streets by Christians preaching (in very broken English) the word of god and asking me to join their church.

      This would be awesome.

I’d like to hear more about your church but I’m busy right now. At 5pm would you meet me at my friends house (someone you dont like) and escort me to you church. I’d love to hear all about it.

it’s in South korea if you still haven’t got it and its all thanks to america for the propaganda war against Communism to spread the gospel. nowadays they go around asia especially to poor parts.

  11. KimchiGUN says:

I’m Korean and Lived in Korea off and on for the past 30 years. Stuff like this happens, but watching Sister Wives on TLC makes me cringe too. To say Korea is a scary place is foolish!

You have crazy stuff like this all over the world!

  12. Tee says:

Yes the fundies are in full force there when I was traveling there. Luckily for me Japan is not easily swayed by such nonsense

  13. Russ Painter says:
