Yes, it’s easy to “stand with God” when your idea of God agrees with your own bigotted, small-minded prejudices.
I can’t tell whether the audience were heckling him or agreeing with him.
Obviously the audience was composed of misogynist men. I can’t believe that a woman would willingly attend a chuch like this. I know some attend because their husbands will beat the shit out of them if they don’t. Rather like muslim women women wear the burka, and claim they LIKE wearing it!
While this criticism is obvious, I just have to say it…does he take all the commandments of the Bible so seriously or just the ones he likes? As the writers of the gospels put into the mouth of Jesus:

No Christian obeys the whole Bible, that’s what makes their moral superiority claims so laughable. Pick and choose which bits are allegorical and which bits are meant to be taken literally (i.e. which bits get ignored and conveniently pretended not to exist)? Then you’ve already admitted that morality is subjective and works by the prevailing zeitgeist, you’re just too stupid to realise it.
What a piece of shit idiot. I hate loud people. Look at all the smartest people; Einstein, Hawking, Dawkins, Sagan,(I could go on forever; soft spoken smart people)etc. Christians can’t win a fair fight. I’ve always wondered why Christians were such dirty cheating fucks when it came to debating; and now I realize it. They need power or emotional arguments, or else they can’t win against any competent debater.
Neither Sagan nor Dawkins was soft-spoken, and I wouldn’t put them among “the smartest people” either, per se. Your point loses some effectiveness there.
But otherwise what you are saying rings pretty true from my experience (though with a few exceptions).
I think you are conflating tone of voice with tone of speech. Dawkins and Sagan are/were quite soft spoken in terms of their actual voice. I don’t think I have ever heard either of them shout and bellow to try to make a point through intimidation. They just have a way with words.
I’m sure there are exceptions as well, but while I have come across belligerent atheists from time to time, I think the only soft spoken religious zealot I have seen is Mike Huckabee. He has a rather sinister way of burying his bully-boy tactics behind a very friendly façade.
Yeah, I meant I’ve never heard either one shout. They don’t use…. almost physical force, I guess? To get their point across; its always their argument alone(and barbs, but I’ve never heard Dawkins just call someone a shithead(though I’ve heard fuckwit on his website) and then end it, its always a founded insult, he always elaborates.

Yeah, I don’t totally remember why I put him on; he was soft spoken before his disability, or perhaps as somewhat of a joke, or maybe both; I don’t totally remember.
This man is a perfect example of a self-righteous idiot. Who would let him “lay with” her? I can’t imagine a more pathetic woman.
I can’t imagine this asshole would ask for permission or consider a denial of permission valid or a reason not to have sex with a woman.

I also liked the comment about Adam ‘taking his theology’ from a woman, as if he was incapable of saying ‘No’ – maybe God hadn’t invented the concept yet? And the part about the scriptures being written by men? Hardly surprising when it was a load of men in 325CE who sat around and decided what books were going to make up the ‘official’ bible.
I didn’t hear any women in the congregation shouting “amen” or “halleluia”… Ugh…
Maybe its like the coliseum, where only men are allowed? There beliefs are certainly from the same time period; and the shit going on the center is just as if not more fucked up as the coliseum shows.

I visited this church when his father in law, Jack Hyles, pastored the church. Nothing has changed. HAYMEN! Back then I really drank the koolaid, now I listen strictly for entertainment.

The individual rapist is guilty but so is the congregation that took his side and made the victim apologize to the a*shole who raped her.
If you have the power to stop something without a great sacrifice, but you don’t, then its just as bad as if you did it yourself. The people who knew about this, or who took a side without enough information are just as guilty as if they’d repeatedly rammed their dick into this girl(whether they have one or not).
