In Scottish witchcraft tradition, a witch who wanted to harm an enemy would make a clay figure called a “picture” and roast it slowly over a fire. Nasty stuff, but not voodoo obviously!
Thanks for your comment. I’m not really sure how these practices became to be associated with Voodoo. I suspect maybe it was just one more negative thing people want to associate with this ancient religion.
I think they just started lumping everything associated with “witchcraft” into their concept of Voodoo, because in their minds Voodoo was “just witchcraft superstition.”
