Quote of the Day: Pope Francis on Human Evil

A great quote from Pope Francis, with a hat tip to NCR:

Faced with the tragic events of human history, we can feel crushed at times, asking ourselves, ‘Why?’ Humanity’s evil can appear in the world like an abyss, a great void: empty of love, empty of goodness, empty of life. And so we ask: how can we fill the abyss? For us it is impossible; only God can fill this emptiness that evil brings to our hearts and to human history. It is Jesus, God made man, Who died on the Cross and Who fills the abyss of sin with the depth of His mercy.”

Exactly! Which is why the only cure for this cancer (also known as Islamic extremism) is to convert these poor souls to Christianity.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”
    John 14:6

I think Pope Francis is speaking about much more than Islam.

He probably isn’t but he should be. What other religious fanatics are committing acts of terrorism on a daily basis? Is it the Amish, the Lutherans, the Unitarians?

It seems 99.999% of these acts are committed in the name of islam. If only our leaders (political and religious) had the courage to just say it.

Do you have any evidence for this assertion about 99%+ of terrorist acts? There have been many past and current terrorist acts and actrocities committed by Christians, Hindus and Buddhists. Just look at the atrocities committed in the Central African Republic by Christian militias.
