Obama wins second term

This afternoon I made predictions regarding the election and it appears that I got it about right. At this point, some states are still too close too call but it appears that the electoral math will not work out for Romney. The discussion about what went wrong has already started. I think the GOP has significant problems which will be analyzed and spun. … [Read more...]

Oh hey there’s an election coming up

In contrast to 2008, I have not kept up with the daily changes and controversies of the presidential race. I have some thoughts about it but I prefer to take a more low key approach this time around.I have enjoyed watching Real Clear Politics however and think they provide a nice service and up to date polling information. Unless something newsworthy comes up or I change my mind, I won't be posting much until the election since ¬†most other things will get lost until it is over.  … [Read more...]

You can’t make this stuff up: South Carolina endorsements for Rick Santorum

If I wanted to write a parody of an anti-gay, Mormon-baiting news release, I couldn't do a better job than this real one from three South Carolina fundamentalists claiming to be evangelicals and to speak for evangelicals. Some money lines:Days before Saturday's GOP Presidential primary here, there are signs that South Carolina evangelical Protestant leaders are starting to follow the lead of peers in Iowa and Houston who have rejected Mitt Romney, a Mormon, in favor of Rick Santorum, a … [Read more...]

GOP Presidential Race Now and Four Years Ago

A CNN poll out today has Texas Governor Rick Perry far out in front of former MA Gov. Mitt Romney. This is too bad in my view. Perry looks good now, but President Obama's political machine will destroy him in the general election. With his Ponzi scheme descriptions of social security alone, Perry has wounded himself severely. Healthcare, and education in Texas are not selling points and even his jobs record will wither under scrutiny. Factor in the praying for rain in the worst Texas drought on … [Read more...]
