Philosophical Differences

Last week Brad and I had the pleasure of visiting an ISKCON center and enjoying some bhajans, chanting, and Gita discussion. It was a wonderful atmosphere and very uplifting to be among fellow spiritual seekers. It's not often, I find, that as a Hindu I'm presented with a fundamental philosophical difference between branches. Book Review: Saffron Cross

I am delighted to have been given a review copy of Saffron Cross: the unlikely story of how a Christian Minister married a Hindu Monk. It's a memoir that I first heard about on Twitter and Patheos Book Club gave me the chance to review it. Apparently Gaudiya Vaishnavism was founded "around 1510 with an ascetic who too … [Read more...]

I went with my fiance and my very good friend and his girlfriend, so there were four of us all together.First we stopped in at the temple and I bowed to the Gods, then we went to the parking lot where colors were already flying. The energy was fantastic. Everyone was pumped up and laughing and having a great time. There was music in the background and a guy who … [Read more...]
