Church and State?
Check out this story posted by Wren’s Nest and marvel at the erosion of the seperation of Church and State.
“The mammoth bill, the American Jobs Creation Act of 2004, would impose reduced fines against churches and other places of worship that inadvertently allow political activity on their properties more than twice a year. On the third violation, the religious organizations would lose their tax exemption for one year.”
If this happens it would mean huge advocacy operations within Churches who won’t care about a fine or two during an election year. The rich churches especially won’t blink before advocating a candidate and then stop just before their “third strike”.
One more reason it has to be anybody but Bush in the next elections.
