Speak of the Devil
While I’m on the subject of Bush’s “Faith Based Initiatives” it seems that it may backfire a bit with his Evengelical base considering the comments from ultra-conservative Constitution Party Presidential candidate Michael Anthony Peroutka.
In addition, while Mr. Bush said in his talk that his “faith-based” welfare program would apply to “all faiths, Christian, Jew or Muslim,” it will NOT be limited to these faiths. It will only be a matter of time before some judge somewhere rules that “faith-based” means the Wicca/witch “religion,” Satan-worshippers, those who practice voodoo and, literally, only God knows what other “faiths.”
Obviously this party thinks this is a weak spot for Bush with Christians, I wonder how long conservative Christians will allow themselves to be co-opted by right-wing politics? In any case to me it’s one more example of the ignorance about our faiths and the lack of character that allows politicians (usually Christian politicians) to use us as a scare tactic in a game of political football.
