The Mo(u)rning After
I’m typing with a heavy heart. I have decided that in my current state I’m not going to try to explain how I feel about the election. I will say that for most modern Pagans the next four years are going to be years of struggle. Bush’s worldview has no place for a faith such as ours, nor does it seem to have much overlap with the issues many of us care about. Our nation is divided, not united and I haven’t seen any optimistic signs that Bush will embrace some spirit of compromise now that he no longer has to worry about getting elected again. I look to the gods and hope that our country can emerge from this time of “neoconservativism” whole and able to heal. In the meantime I will try to act as a voice for my faith community and see if together we can light some candles in the encroaching darkness.
