The Pagan Heart Looking For eHarmony
Salon’s Rebecca Traister a self-proclaimed “pagan feminist” takes on the evangelical (but expanding into secular markets) dating service eHarmony and interviews its founder Neil Clark Warren.
“As for my romantic prospects, Warren had some grim news. He said that because I was bright, I “lose at least 95 percent of candidates because of IQ.” Great. Apparently, I also need someone articulate, ambitious and energetic. In short, as Warren said, I am “looking for a rare, rare, rare person.” He laughed when I told him that I had received more than 20 matches but that only a couple sounded even remotely appealing. “Well, you’d be lucky if you found one in that batch,” he said, adding that one is all I need.”
Letters in response to the article are already pouring in, many of which focus on how a secular Pagan and a evangelical Christian interacted and if the liberal Traister was being fair to Warren. So I’m wondering (academically of course, I’m happily married) what dating service would be best for modern Pagans looking for a mate?
