He said it himself, he was a revolutionary against the Roman Empire. He hung out with terrorists and political assassins and quite possibly was a terrorist himself... More than half of St. Patrick's reputation is from people who took advantage of his name after he died and the modern pagans who have no idea how to interpret their propaganda.
