A Different Kansas Religion Story

Kansas City at any rate. A new play developed by the Mosaic Life Stories Project aims to foster understanding between religious traditions.

‘The Hindu and the Cowboy . . . and Other Kansas City Stories’ is the title of a play based on interviews with Kansas Citians of many diverse traditions. It is the resulting product of the Mosaic Life Stories Project, a process undertaken in 2002 by a group of volunteers who were inspired by both the need for first-hand interfaith understanding and by belief in the power of story in dramatic form.”

The play details interactions with many different religious traditions including modern Paganism, Unitarian Universalism, Hinduism, and Native American.

Actor Ted McKim from “The Hindu and The Cowboy”

“You realize that the characters in the show are our neighbors. You may think that your neighbor is a work-a-day Joe, but many have lived a life that is the stuff of movies.”Cheryl Hood, actor in “The Hindu and The Cowboy”

If you are in Kansas City or the surrounding region why not see an upcoming show? It could be a nice change of pace from that other Kansas religion story dominating the news.
