Will The “Sex And The City” Set Go Pagan?
The Toledo Blade has an examination of the “Chick Lit” genre. In the article it is pointed out that one major growth area is the paranormal.
“Paranormal chick lit, featuring young women encountering ghosts, vampires, and extraterrestrials, is hot, Kennedy added. Red Dress Ink will publish The Girl’s Guide to Witchcraft next fall.”
Will this be a magic(k) primer for those hooked on books like “Dating Can Be Deadly”? A book which features a “psychically talented” receptionist who solves occult crimes and works on finding the man of her dreams.
Perhaps more interesting is that this means modern Paganism and Witchcraft isn’t just a growth market for teens or radical environmentalists. That much-coveted young, urban, working-woman “Sex and the City” demographic seems to want a little more magic in their lives.
