CHIRLEISON

Chirleison
Band Bio:
Chirleison was born in the year 2000 from the ashes of the Essences (who published the album “Nebulae” produced of Energeia). When they broke up, the singer (Alessia Cicala) and the guitarist (Daniele Serra) togheter with another member (Mara Lasi) gave birth to this project. Enchanted by ancient sounds and nature, using different languages (Italian, French, English), we try to filter our personal experiences through a musical research, simple and spontaneous.

Reviews:
“Their music sounds like something in between ethereal wave and heavenly voices. The nine tracks on this cd are built around soft and melodic keyboard sounds, melancholic guitar pieces and a beautiful female voice. With these ingredients Chirleison creates nice, mostly tranquil songs and perfect music for a daydream.” – Funprox
“…this trio will capture you with their musicianship and lush production. It doesn?t hurt their credibility that they hail from island of Sardinia, How cool is that? Seriously though, Alessia?s vocals are clear, strong and lyrical, Daniele?s guitar and Mara?s keyboards weave a masterful seduction throughout.” – Morbid Outlook
“Chirleison is a band which comes from Sardinia, Italian of origin and on this romantic tinted neo-folk cd they combine themes from the classical past of Italy with a richly orchestrated and well polished sound to which the heavenly vocals of Alessia are a fascinating addition.” – Gothtronic
My Two Cents:
It isn’t hard to love a band inspired by Greek mythology and the ancient past. It becomes even easier when the band is as talented as Chirleison. Beautiful neo-folk with subtle electronic elements featuring the heavenly vocals of Alessia Cicala who sings in French, Italian, and English. The three band members live on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia off the coast of Italy, and you can almost picture the ancient past whipsering in their ears as they create this modern concoction of aural delights.
