100 Witch’s Familiars?

Your a reporter, you get handed the assignment to cover a crazy cat lady. So you look for an angle to make the story more interesting. The gods of public interest stories smile apon you and the crazy cat lady turns out to be a Witch. Bonus points if you can mention Harry Potter in the article.

“In a Tiny Queens Apartment, 70 Cats Gone, and 28 to Go. “Any evil intention against my cats and me, will come back to you, three times three.” Thus spoke the witch of Elmhurst last week, casting a protective spell over her coven of cats ? 30 strong, but shrinking by the day…The witch happens to be Melanie Neer, 50, a student of the principles of Wicca and Harry Potter.”

I wonder what the principles of Harry Potter are, can you self-dedicate to Harry Potter-ism or do you need to find an existing coven of Potterites? What does her religion have to do with her being a crazy cat lady? Nothing of course. I’m sure the demographics of crazy cat ladies will find an abundance of Christians (if such a study were ever conducted). But thanks to a bored reporter looking for something to excite the masses (or at least his editor) we now have the Wiccan crazy cat lady as a representative of modern Paganism.
