The Friendly Druids of Canada
The Bangor Daily News covers the annual Cabot Trail Relay, an 185-mile relay marathon that takes place on Cape Breton Island. While the race is filled with colorful costumes and characters, sometimes the participants have a sublime experience of the Pagan variety.
“The first year I did this, it amazed me, I hit the top of the mountain once and this druid came out of the woods and gave me a drink of water … . It’s a wonderful experience.” – Denny Beers, 56, of Dixmont
It looks like the friendly Druids of Canada made an impression! Maybe this could be part of a new campaign of Druidic “niceness”. Druids emerging from the woods to help change a flat tire, Druids emerging from the woods to held carry your groceries, Druids emerging from the woods to help you do your taxes, you get the picture.
