The Goddess Religion shelf. Even though it did feel just a tiny bit like the "Group W Bench"--I never had the sense that Pagans were quite as welcome as other New Agers--I do remember the day. That's where I first encountered <a HREF="http://www.sacred-texts.com/pag/aradia/index.htm" rel="nofollow">Aradia</a>, some of <a HREF="http://www.amazon.com/Grimoire-Shadows-Witchcraft-Paganism-Magick/dp/1567186599" rel="nofollow">Ed Fitch's old Pagan Way materials</a> <a HREF="http://www.amazon.com/Book-Pagan-Rituals-Herman-Slater/dp/0877283486" rel="nofollow">(as recycled, without proper credit, by Herman Slater)</a> and Starhawk's <a HREF="http://www.amazon.com/Dreaming-Dark-Magic-Sex-Politics/dp/0807010375" rel="nofollow">Dreaming the Dark</a>.That was back in the era when I remember slavishly copying word-for-word the ritual invocations from a borrowed copy of Stuart Farrar's <a HREF="http://www.amazon.com/Omega-Novel-Eco-magick-Stewart-Farrar/dp/1578633893" rel="nofollow">Omega</a>. To say I was hungry for materials on Paganism would be understating the case considerably! Happily, even where the Pagan equivalent of the "Group W Bench" doesn't exist anymore, the Internet has made so much accessible anywhere there's a modem.Thank Gods.
