Several Beowulf movies are either already out or soon to be released. Marvel Comics revived its "Mighty Thor" series this summer and has a Thor movie slated for release in 2009.Whatever the reason for the slew of publications and films, I'm delighted that the ideals of courage and self-reliance that these stories represent have retained their vigor in today's world. Without her bold defenders, Midgard (Middle Earth) and all of humanity would be in dire straits indeed.
