If it is Cameron's hope to win hearts and minds for the advancement of native people's rights, economic justice, pacifism, religious diversity, and ecological awareness, by most indications, he'll have to ensure that the quality of Avatar's sequal(s) is improved considerably: as is illustrated by the flurry of acquaintances' vindictive comments that appeared on my Facebook feed following Cameron's failure to stand out at the Academy Awards, a film that many people saw isn't necessarily a film that many people liked.
