I am also a survivor of child sexual abuse, and also agree that a specific statement that sexual assault by an adult with a minor is wrong is important, and that all sexual acts by adults perpetrated on children are acts of sexual assault. It seems self evident, of course, but unfortunately it's not. As a survivor, I have heard of people hem and haw about it not being that harmful, or that children have a sexual life too, and decisions need to be made on a case by case basis, or that youth might benefit from having an older sexual teacher. So a clear statement that of course, sex acts perpetrated by adults on children is are inherently coercive and nonconsensual needs to be present.

I think the statement is wonderful. I think that the wording against sexual predation is strong, but still manages to convey that, as Pagans, we believe sexuality to be a *good* thing. I think that message is important, since we do have rituals that other religions might have problems with because of the emphasis on nudity and/or sexuality and jump to some bad conclusions about them.

Personally, I will sign it, and I hope that my coven will do so as well.

There were some minor grammatical errors, but I think others will point those out and get them corrected (I’m not the grammar police, so I’ll leave that to them!!
