Man who lives in gilded halls and sits on a throne of gold chastizes the world for worshipping money.

So, this happened.

The pope, who later celebrated Mass for some 300,000 people outside the city’s cathedral, told them: “We don’t want this globalised economic system which does us so much harm. Men and women have to be at the centre (of an economic system) as God wants, not money.”

“The world has become an idolator of this god called money,” he said.

Yes, the head of the Catholic Church, one of the most obscenely wealthy organizations on earth, is concerned that people worship money.  Just like Kanye West thinks people are too arrogant nowadays.

Now I know what you’re going to say: the Catholic Church is smart with its money and uses it to feed the starving before indulging in any frivolities.  To that, I can only direct you back to the title of this article.  Also lawsuits because the Church shielded child rapists.

Francis said this in response to poverty he had seen.  To which I can only offer this suggestion, if the pope really thinks the accumulation of wealth is a moral failing:

“…the Catholic Church is smart with its money and uses it to feed the starving before indulging in any frivolities…”

lol…the Catholic Church could eliminate childhood hunger easily with all the money they are sitting on and continue to collect on a daily basis. Yet the children continue to starve, don’t they?

However, the clubhouses (aka churches) are in generally good condition with air conditioning, donuts for the clubhouse members (and visitors), and some nice (unnecessarily) gold items. No issues paying for the priests to fly out to important meetings like how the atheists are such bad people…

    What he said:

We don’t want this globalised economic system which does us so much harm. Men and women have to be at the centre as God wants, not money.

    What I heard:

Don’t worship money. Worship the people who have the money.

The pope is among the least appropriate persons to make the point but the growing inequality in the U.S. could be reversed if he ordered the U.S. council of bishops to quit supporting the (R). That’d help the poor here eat (at least).

    • Mackinz

Well, then all the bishops would have to want the (D) and we all know how much Catholicism hates the (D).

Men and women have to be at the centre (of an economic system) as God wants, not money.

Apparently, God needs to have a little sit-down with this guy:

Maybe this means that all those hospitals the RCC is buying will offer free health care to all. Raise your hand if you believe that.
