Siouxland Freethinkers to give secular invocation at city council meeting.

In the wake of the SCOTUS’s horrid ruling the the Greece case, atheists everywhere are signing up to give atheist invocations.  The Siouxland Freethinkers are all over it:

After the U.S. Supreme Court ruling allowing governing bodies to open meetings with a prayer, an atheist group has signed up to give its own sort of blessing before a Sioux Falls City Council meeting.

After reading Mayor Mike Huether’s reaction to the ruling in Tuesday’s Argus Leader, Siouxland Freethinkers President Amanda Novotny contacted him about giving her own address.

My advice to people wanting to give invocations at city council meetings: be sectarian.  They’re going to be.  Don’t just stand up and say “love is great, let’s do good things.”  No, say Jesus is a myth.  Say religion is dangerous.  Say that so much hate is born into the world directly from the womb of religion.  Let them see how sectarian prayer feels to the group not giving it.
