TN state senator compares the Affordable Care Act to the Holocaust.

I’ve grown cynical in my time as a blogger.  A lot of times when I see a headline like “Tennessee State Senator Compares Obamacare To The Holocaust” I’ll read the article and realize the comparison was tenuous at best.  That is honestly what I expected when I saw that headline.

Then I read the article.  Holy shit, Sen. Stacey Campfield (R) did exactly that:

A brief post published at the blog of state Sen. Stacey Campfield (R) read: “Democrats bragging about the number of mandatory sign ups for Obamacare is like Germans bragging about the number of manditory [sic] sign ups for ‘train rides’ for Jews in the 40s.”

The comment was flagged by the Nashville Scene and noted on Twitter by BuzzFeed reporterEvan McMorris Santoro. A screenshot is below.

Mr. “Manditory,” who compares a bill ensuring millions of people have healthcare to a tragedy where millions of people were murdered (which is about as far from healthcare as you can get), has more power for altering laws than most of us ever will.  Never let it be said that money combined with widespread lack of education can’t accomplish wonders.
