YIMCatholic Is Back At Patheos, Obviously May 5, 2016

It’s late on a Thursday night, but not too late to write a brief post saying, “You may not have noticed, but I’m back to blogging again.”

Yep. Check out this graph,

Someone isn’t flying under the radar anymore, Houston.

Having flown along on auto-pilot, see, at tree-top level, for approximately 9 months, YIMCatholic appears to be climbing again.

I reckon the pilot woke up?

Yep.

Where was Joe Six-Pack, USMC? What was he doing? Did he write the Great American Novel, or something?

He was around. He was doing things. He didn’t write a single line.

But that’s already changed, as I’m banging out post, after post, after post…

Well, not really. It’s not my style to write stuff in advance. It never was. All those years where I was posting something every single day? They were all done on a whim, dear reader. A whim, and a prayer. And that’s how it will continue.

During my hiatus, though, I thought (and prayed) about what it is that I should be doing in this space. I’m not saying stone tablets came done from Heaven with any definitive directives, but one commandment popped into my noggin, and I promise not to violate it.

“Thou shalt not post anything that is longer than 666 words.”

Hmmmm. Trying not to concentrate on the significance of that number (I mean it is what comes after 665, and before 667, see?), I got the point. Keep it brief, and to the point.

Can do, LORD!

I’ll be doing my best to do what Blaise Pascal said took more time, to wit,

“I would have written a shorter letter, but I did not have the time.”
—Provincial Letters : XVI (4 December 1656).

Anyway, I appreciate your patronage while I put the throttle to the wall, pull back on the stick, and see where we wind up.

Yeehaw!
