The YIMCatholic Photo Album UPDATED

I just noticed the neatest thing over on my Google+ account. There is a photo album there where all of the photographs I have ever used while the blog was on Blogger are presented all together. It sort of reminds me of a Pinterest board.

It’s also like going back in time just scrolling through the collection of photographs, paintings, and drawings (906 in all) from my very first solo post (see photograph above), to all the rest of them. If a picture is worth a 1,000 words, than these 906 pictures are worth 906,000 words. Or more likely, a million of ‘em. [Read more...]

Now that is the New Evangelization in action, Catholic style. Do they still put olives in martinis made with white chocolate almond flavored vodka? Next, read the following question. [Read more...]

Phil Collins Shares My Thoughts On Google+

FYI…I won’t be taking the time to post on Google+ any longer. Today’s change of format there prompted me, but it’s been simmering in my mind for a while. It’s like this, in a toe-tapping nutshell,

Because the lights may be on over at Google+, but nobody is at home.  There are plenty of crickets chirping over there, though. Google+  is like the neutron bomb of social media.  There, I said it.

Not Sure If Donating to Making “All That Remains” is a Good Idea?

I can understand where you’re coming from. You’ve been burned before. Or more likely, you’ve been duped by shoddy productions and bad acting when you were hoping a film would measure up to the standards you’ve come to expect. You loved Fr. Barron’s Catholicism series, for instance, and want more top quality productions like that.

So I have a proposition for you: [Read more...]

Another $1,000 Donation Received for “All That Remains”, And North Korea Is Giving Up Her NUKES?

Both events happened yesterday. Are they related? Honestly, I have no idea. But in the midst of Presidential Campaign sabre rattling fervor directed towards the sovereign state of Iran, I was heartened to learn that the less sexy alternative, diplomacy, made some serious headway in North Korea. An “All That Remains” Praise Report

CGI drawing of the Urakami Cathedral

Fresh off spending an evening at the Oscars with family and long-distance friends (thanks to the wonders of television and Facebook), I just happened to notice where your favorite film producers’ (ahem, that’s me, in case you’ve forgotten) fund-raising kitty for the film All That Remains is sitting. It being Lent, the season for almsgiving mind you, a kind soul has taken the opportunity to show the project some mercy in the form of a $2,000 donation. Anonymously. [Read more...]

Back in Port, On Shore Leave, Gone Readin’ and Prayin’

This is your Captain speaking. I have to inform you that the cruise we’ve been on since October has come to a close. All ammunition, food and water was expended, and we made it back to port just in time for a wee bout of shore leave. [Read more...]

There is a Second Petition at the White House, FYI UPDATED

And it’s cooking along at 1,431 signatures at last count (@15:45 EST), which is close to the maximum for this particular airframe. Have you signed it yet? Please do, because the crew would really like to transition to the next level of aircraft as soon as possible. [Read more...]

FYI, The HHS Mandate Petition Skunked the Competition UPDATED

And here’s why: meet the real FoC petition, y’all. Because although the NARAL petition was indeed a Ferrari like the one we knew was behind us, the petition I was driving was good ol’ American Iron of the type that whipped the Ferraris at LeMans four consecutive times. Full of justice, freedom from oppression, and yearning for the good, the true, and the beautiful. Oh, and endowed with a very broad torque band. [Read more...]
