Obama and the Crass Roots Campaign

I thought the above was over the top. And then I saw this.

Our President approves of the following message… [Read more...]

and around the corner. Folks of every creed, every color, and every political persuasion. Folks who recognize when their government has overstepped its boundary, and overreached.

See if you approve of this message too. [Read more...]

It doesn’t get much cooler than this. Let’s just say that my hat is off to the driver of this rig, and all of his helpers. [Read more...]

What If God Was One of Us, and Drove a Race Car?

Ayrton would not approve of that typo!

Today is the 20th anniversary of the passing on to God of this legendary racing driver. As such, I’m republishing this post.

I would wager that the answer to my title question would be that if this ever happened, it would look a lot like Ayrton Senna da Silva dominating Formula One circuits.

Who is Ayrton Senna? A race car driver who died eighteen years ago. Prepare for a gearhead hagiography post of sorts. [Read more...]

Sneak Preview of an American Catholic Political Party!

Some folks are dreamers, wishing upon a star. They say things like, “If only there was a Catholic political party, things would be different.”

Just such a monster was on display at last nights debate between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan. Why is a Catholic Political Party an impossibility? Roll tape, [Read more...]

God Gave Us the Vote So We Could Make Fools of Ourselves (While His Will Prevails) UPDATED

Which is part of the reason why I don’t spend much time worrying about the sanctity of voting.

Oh sure, I’ve explained how the First Past the Post system works here in the U.S., and I’ve said I get a healthy bit of advice from Chesterton’s Democracy of the Dead. I even said I’ll be voting for Romney, long before the polls made a victory look feasible.

But all this angst about voting, and it’s purported effect on my immortal soul, etc? Balderdash. [Read more...]

A 1,000 Mile Per Hour Car? Let’s Do It!

I’m a sucker for gearhead related stuff like this. Slap four wheels on something that includes a Formula-One engine, a Typhoon fighter plane jet engine AND a rocket motor? I’m definitely interested.

ABC News has the clip (pardon any commercials), [Read more...]

O’Brien Industries’ HHS Mandate Lawsuit Tossed Out

In an earlier post today, I asked a question about corporate personhood. You may recall that the current Administration doesn’t like the idea of a corporation being a person. They don’t care much for the Church being considered a person either.

Back in March, O’Brien Industries was one of the first private corporations to sue the Health and Human Services Department. On Friday, the federal district court in Missouri threw their case out. Rob Vischer over at Mirror of Justice explains what happened, [Read more...]

So If a Corporation is A Person, and A Person Has Rights…

Then why does the government argue in court that a secular corporation doesn’t have rights?

Joe Six-Pack doesn’t know, but it seems awfully strange given the Supreme Courts rulings about corporate personhood, and the rights thereunto pertaining. The Citizens United case comes to my mind.

This is what dislodged the thought above in my very average brain, [Read more...]

Separation of Church and State? The HHS Mandate Shatters That

Which is why it must be rescinded. Yesterday, I talked about how pelvic issues have taken primacy and shared Dr. Helen Alvaré’s talk on the HHS Mandate given back in April. Looking further back to February, someone sent me an e-mail about a free class on the Constitution being offered at Hillsdale College. You can still sign up for that bootstrap class, and throw them some shekels as a donation for good measure. [Read more...]
