The Cinematic Good vs. Evil Matrix and a Message from Mission Control UPDATED

Above, in poster form, are thoughts that flashed though my mind as the solid propellant boosters on the good ship Freedom of Conscience were jettisoned. As these different scenes along the matrix of good vs. evil flashed past my mind’s eye, I recalled the words Our Lord spoke to St. Paul on the road to Damascus, [Read more...]

Because Sexually, You Aren’t a “Black Box”

This is Joe Six-Pack here. I haven’t received much hate mail in a while so I must be doing something wrong. Therefore, I will explain sex to everyone who stumbles in here today. What with all the hoopla going on with the HHS mandate, you might think that that development is all about birth-control and such.  But it isn’t.

After all, for some strange reason, the modern world believes the wacky idea that sex is a “black box” that simply cannot be understood. [Read more...]

Why God Created the Shotgun

So cool and geeky nano-bot engineers can watch ignorant Marines with high school degrees (and $189 shotguns) blow their precious creations out of the sky for sport. [Read more...]

Obamacare’s Great Gift: Clarification

Thank you, Mr. President. Some of us weren’t sure until recently. But now, thanks to the clarity provided by your Administration’s HHS Mandate, we can see clearly now, the rain is gone. Or like Elizabeth Scalia put’s it in her post over at First Things, and in good ol’ American English: Dude…we are church! [Read more...]

A Petition For All Freedom Loving People to Sign UPDATED

Notice: This petition reached the goal and was responded to by the Administration.

Evidently, I’m getting ready for a Catholic Spring or something. After posting about the Facebook group all freedom loving people should join, see, I had another idea. After all, if I’m in for a penny, I’m in for a pound. Just like the Pamchenko, there is no “half way” with me. I’m either fully on, or fully off. And you knew John Wayne died a Catholic, right?! Because the YOUCAT Helps My Children and Me

You may have missed the fracus a few years back when I killed Santa Claus, but his memory still lives on. In our house now, “Santa” means “unexpected gifts from Mom and Dad.” This past Christmas, see, Santa gave each of my children a copy of the new Youth Cathechism, also known as the YOUCAT. Would You Believe Because of Crony Capitalism? UPDATED

Would that really surprise you if I said that one of the reasons why I am Catholic is because of Crony Capitalism? Well it shouldn’t, if you think about it. Perhaps you haven’t read Caritas In Veritate, or looked into the the Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church. Maybe you skipped over all of those posts I wrote when I was being a Rand Buster™. Love Jesus, Hate Religion? Fr. Robert Barron Fires Both Barrels

Sometimes, something goes so viral that all you can do is shake your head and wonder, “what are people thinking?” Then again, I realize that many of us are conditioned to respond to things that are nearly correct, even if they are, in truth, way off base. Consider the mad rounds of clapping in recent political debates when swaggering candidates talk of killing our nation’s enemies, alleged or otherwise, foreign or domestic. Or the real estate, or Dot Com bubbles. [Read more...]

Because Martin Luther King Jr. Died For Truth

On April 4th, in the year of Our Lord, 1968, at 6:01 PM, in my home state, Martin Luther King Jr. was shot and killed by a man named James Earl Ray. I was 4 1/2 years old.

We as a nation lost a great man that day. In a way, we collectively killed a great man that day. He was martyred for the beliefs that we all knew were true, but which we didn’t want to believe, because to do so would have meant that we, as a nation, would have to change our ways. So an assassin’s bullet settled the matter for us. And though Martin lost his life on that day, the assassin’s purpose was thwarted, and the lives of the rest of us changed for the better. Because the Anti-Christ is Politics

I’ve been reading Giovanni Papini’s Life of Christ some more. My Chinese mentor, John C.H. Wu, introduced this book to me. You’ve probably never heard of Papini (I sure hadn’t!) but he was a well known author back in the early 20th Century. Come to think of it, that was ’round about the same time G.K. Chesterton was pumping out tons of great stuff from his pen/typewriter too. [Read more...]
