On Hamlet, Our Sins, And The Man In The Mirror UPDATED

I was going to write a long and involved post on the little news item that we would surely love to sweep under the carpet. The news out of Ireland about our failure to uphold Jesus’s new commandment. The commandment that, if we follow it, will prove to the world our name and heritage.

But the French guy, Pascal-Emmanuel Gobry, aka “PEG”, wrote, “Look At Your Sin” in my stead. Read it, post haste. [Read more...]

Bishop Paprocki’s Homily for Prayers of Supplication and Exorcism in Reparation for the Sin of Same-Sex Marriage

Earlier this evening, in Springfield, Illinois, Bishop Thomas J. Paprocki followed through with his plan of prayers and the rite of exorcism in response to the Governor of Illinois signing a same-sex marriage bill into law. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, as you can see, was not empty. [Read more...]

The #1 Reason the Catholic Church Won’t Support Same-Sex Marriage…

It’s quite simple, actually. Oh, you won’t see the reason talked about by folks being grilled by the Piers Morgans of the world. [Read more...]

The Real Culprit Behind the Attacks Across the Islamic World UPDATED

The Colors flying at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo Egypt, at half-mast. September 13, 2012

I’ve been thinking about the attacks to our embassies all across the Islamic world. Like the rogue character Gaston in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, me thinking is a frightening prospect, I know. But I cannot help but do it, as I served in Cairo, Egypt and Kuala Lumpur Malaysia as a Marine Security Guard (MSG) at our embassies located in those two capital cities of predominantly Muslim countries.

I spent 15 months or so in both of these countries fairly soon after a barracks of Marines was blown up in Lebanon (1983), and the U.S. Embassy in Beirut was blown to kingdom come (1984). [Read more...]

Because the Catholic Church is Flying Under the Gaydar, and Way Over It Too UPDATED

In fact, she transcends homosexuality in the same manner that she transcends everything, be it politics, economics, justice, health, and every other category you can name that involves the human person. Everyone who is a member of fallen humanity, say “aye!”

The Anchoress, Mark Shea, Marc Barnes, Michael Voris (!), and I all line up on the same side of the room when it comes to the teachings of the Church on homosexuality. Why? Because we believe her teachings. And though I can’t speak for my friends standing on the same side of the room with me, I can speak for myself when I admit that I once did not. The same is true for the Church’s teachings on marriage, divorce, contraception, the death penalty, etc., etc. Like many a (former) Protestant, see, I was my own Pope. The buck stopped here. A Message to the Administration from the Communion of Saints on the HHS Mandate

What the Obama Administration doesn’t seem to understand is a truth that needs only to be uttered in the calmest and softest of whispers.  The Church will never support the HHS Mandate, because the Church can never knowingly commit a sin.

Though She is chock full of sinners (100% certified, grade-A sinners, by the way), with low-end mucky-mucks like me (surely one of the greatest of them) spilling over her gunwales, She herself is supernaturally free from the stain of sin. And that’s not something that Joe Six-Pack just made up to make himself feel better, either. It’s a supernatural truth that needs no banging of gongs or clashing of cymbals to precede it. What Happens When The Dignity Of Human Beings is Lost

You just thrown their dead bodies away. And then when you are discovered, and your feet are held to the fire, you complain that it would take a “monumental effort” to do our war dead justice. Yes, our dead troops who out of one side of our mouths we act as though they are holy and sacred, while with our actions we shun, ignore, and toss them into a landfill in Virginia.

The Washington Post has the sad, unbelievable, story. [Read more...]
