I was forced to do French as well; I ended up getting a CSE grade 5 which made it all worthwhile!

Does anyone think that English (the language) will conquer the World?
When I was at High School, I was obliged to 'take' French - I performed excrutiatingly badly in my exams, and my teacher sort of took it personally - she (had a big chin, which has nothing whatsoever to do with it) privately asked me if I was having any problems with the class, and I replied that I was having enough problems learning English. Was I being chauvinistic, or was I just dumb?

Well I have to work on documents that are for an American audience so have my spell checker at work set for American English ... I spend a lot of time thinking piss off that's not how it's spelt [Ed: I think you're find it's spelled]

It's the Cosby show, not the Crosby show, on account of the rationing of "r"s here in the colonies.

My version of firefox seems to have been loaded with "The Queen's English" as its internal spell-check dictionary, and keeps telling me that my perfectly good American spellings are wrong.

It's verrie annouying.

Humour -- it's an English word that the colonies don't seem to understand, it's the rationing of of the u's as far as I know!

Anyway watched the first three episodes and very impressed. I might even forgive you lot for making the Crosby Show, Friends and claiming that Cheers was funny.
