I'm going to admit something here so that it's out in the open and can sit in the back of people's minds when they read my posts.
I project. A lot. It's easy to do on the internet because there is no flesh and blood person staring back at you, and so when you read a post, the voice in your head is your own. But I'm worse than most about it.
So, when I read someone defending god/s or creationism or anything like that, the person in my head is the person *I* used to be, when I was defending god/s or creationism. And that version of me annoys me to no end. I want to grab him and shake him until he wakes from his compartmentalized stupor and realizes how infantile his worldview is.
So, to anyone who has taken a shot or two from me that seems excessively aggressive, that's my explanation. You have my apologies. Jonjon, you've taken a few of those, so I'll apologize to you by name. You remind me of who I used to be, and that guy annoys me. It isn't you. I'm sure you're a perfectly nice person.
