Kind of like Cathy if it were one panel, so at the very least, we're spared 3 more panels of same. It seems like the kind of stuff someone might get if they flipped through The New Yorker just to read the cartoons and thought their Reader's Digest sensibility was exactly the same thing. It also seems like the kind of person who might have thought she could be a stand-up comedienne but couldn't come up with 3 minutes of material. I'm not going so far as to say she's funny or even observant, but her cartoons look like she made a list of ideas for jokes she thought could be funny or wry or whatever and illustrated the ideas. Poorly. Her handwriting is gross. I write like that when I'm the only one who has to read what I wrote. Are we supposed to imagine a busy mom slapping together something in the 5 minutes between soccer and ballet carpools at the little built-in table desk in the corner of her kitchen, because it looks like it, but that's not a plus.
So, I have never heard of her before. I don't read a lot of newspapers or magazines. Are we spared what could be Cathy or a stand-up routine or a popular blog? Is she a guest commentator on a major news outlet or morning program? Kathie Lee and Hoda and Donna Barstow? Does Elisabeth Hasselbeck find her amusing? Will she be invited to sit panel on The View? I'm sick just thinking about her on shows I don't watch.
