System Shock
Baldur's Gate II

War Craft II
Civilization IV
Age of Empires II
Quake
Scorched Earth
Deus Ex
Baldur's Gate II
Master of Orion II
Half Life II
Civilization II
You know, it occurs to me that I really like the sequel when it comes to games... :)
Honorable Mentions -
X-Com
Darklands
Diablo II
Starcraft
ESIV: Oblivion
Some good games and probably the only one I disagree with is Oblivion. It started off well but seem to quickly run out of steam and the less said about the main plot line the better. FO3 was (IMHO) much better.
Fallout 3 is next on my list of games I need to play.
As long as you don't try to compare it to FO1/2 it's a really great game. Just trekking off into the wilderness to see what you can find is highly enjoyable. In addition the side quests are generally original and rise above the shoot the bad guys and take the treasure. I've put in about 65 hours so far and still end up finding new places to explore.
How could I forget Deus Ex?!?!
In fact, just add in everything ever designed by Warren* Spector.
*Sheesh, yes, Warren Spector.
Though, Phil does seem to live his life like he's in his own personal FPS.
I love Oblivion, I know there's a lot of faults in it but I'm mod crazy with it. I should take some screens sometime. That should have been enabled by default without us having to edit the file to allow screenshot taking.
I also can't help but laugh at this one quest where you have to kill the trolls in a cave because they ate the villagers. When you get back to the quest giver, she's like "Oh no, trolls ate them? That's a shame. Good that you killed them though!" with no sign of sadness in her voice at all.
So my list is:
Oblivion
Seiken Densetsu 3
Mario 64
Mario Kart 64
Starcraft
Honorable mentions:
Final Fantasy adventure
Chrono Trigger
I'm mostly an old school gamer though since I don't have any systems newer than the PS2. My PC isn't bad though so I do most of my gaming on there. I want to get Fallout 3.
Gah!
JRPGs give me a rash.
At least FFVII had a really good (read: nearly comprehensible) story.
@Ty: Warren Spector.
Didn't he work on Thief: The dark project? I never got around to playing the full game of that and I want to.
@Ty
Phil Spector, are you sure?
Deus Ex is a game I never managed to get into for some reason (much the same as System Shock) even though both of them got rave reviews/followings.
@OceansDream
I think we are seeing the age difference here! "I'm mostly an old school gamer though since I don't have any systems newer than the PS2." I would have expected at least a "I don't have any system newer than an Atari ST" or even "I mostly play use MAME".
System Shock
Age of Empires II
Half Life
Team Fortress Classic
Hero's Quest
Throw rock, throw rock, throw rock, throw rock.. (someone say amen!)

Yeah I'm 25, I'm not that old. But a lot of the games I play are SNES ones, or games like Doom, Wolfenstein and stuff. I think Ultima 5 is the oldest one I've played recently. I was playing Knights of Legend too but that one bored me quickly.
EDIT- Plus SNES games are good for me to take a look at since that's the type of graphical style I work in.
Arcanum: Of Magicks and Steamworks Obscura
Baulder's Gate 2
Lord of the Rings Online
Ultima Online, if only because it's the only game I keep coming back to.
Chrono Trigger (while not a computer game, still fantastic)
so many choices. i'm not much of a PC gamer, but here are my favorites
1 Starcraft
2 Simcity(all of them)
3 Rollercoaster Tycoon
4 The Sims(the first one only)
5 Diablo 2
as you can see, I haven't met a modern PC game that i'm particularly fond of.
Has anyone played Deus Ex Human Revolution yet?
I am surprisingly happy with it. No Warren Spector, but they seem to have nailed the feel of the original.
I just paused playing it to get a snack and surf teh webz a bit. I am very pleased with it so far.
Final Fantasy VII
Super Mario Sunshine
Fallout 3
Fallout 3: New Vegas
Oblivion
Near misses:
PlanetSide
Frontier Elite
Pilot Wings
F-Zero
WipeOut
Sock, which LoTRO server do you play? I'm on Snowborn as Custador and Elkor.
Baldur's gate (whole sage)
Vampire the masquerade
Thouhou 6 Embroidment of the Scarlet Devil
Final Fantasy VI
Dragon Age (although only for the chance of having a gay romance inside the story and the charaterisation)/ Amnesia The Dark Descent
"Vampire the masquerade"
I choked on my own horror.
I recently got into my first roguelike game. Beware. Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup will consume hours of your life.
Also I play WoW. It's a cheap-ass hobby, and fun.
LoL is a good game, although I'm quite bad at it. (Also Free-to-Play)
After that, probably some terrifying combination of flash games. I'm cheap about buying games, and I'm also so cheap that my crappy laptop is my only gaming platform of any kind.
Vanilla+2 Everquest (everything after sucked a big one)
Diablo 2
Warcraft 3 (D.O.T.A.)
Starcraft
Minecraft
Planescape:Torment was always a favorite.
I do play WoW, but it's losing it's appeal.
I choked on my own horror.
LOL. I do hope you mean Bloodlines (which, in parts, was really fucking scary) and not Redemption, which, while a good game, was not scary at all.

Y'know, technically, the Diablo games are roguelikes...just really prettified ones.
Planescape:Torment was always a favorite.
An excellent pick.
In no particular order:
World of Goo
Star Fox 64
FE10
Descent
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Silent Hill
Silent Hill 2 (I think it was 2?)
The Suffering
Baldur's Gate 2
Icewind Dale
and the game I wasted the most time playing would be FFVII
Further note: never been a huge gamer so I've never played some games that I'm sure I'd love, like Half Life, and never survived far enough into Fall Out. :)
Hm anyone here remember playing Ultima IV?
@Elemenope I just played Redemption, which I loved. Also I "chocked in my own horror" playing amnesia....
In no particular order (This list is not exhaustive)
ESIV:Oblivion
Black & White
Pokemon
Halo
AoE II
Dungeon Keeper
Sims 3
Fable
Half-Life II
Neverwinter Nights (I and II)
Star Wars KOTOR I and II
C&C: Red Alert
Red Dead Redemption
Crusader: No Regret
Constructor
Theme Hospital
Currently play an online CCG called Tyrant
Have played a few MMO's, notably Runescape, Rappelz, Runes of Magic and Allods, keen to play SW:OR
Deus Ex II was disappointing. Hopefully the third installment will be an improvement.
5 is a ridiculous limit.
