Ty: I laughed out loud at that last post.
Why do you think it is more reasonable to believe, God does not exist ?

You can't comment on the content of my post? I misunderstood what this blog was about. Sorry.

"God is a given" is not a very strong argument. It is in fact a logical fallacy called begging the question.

Presuming "Spiritual/Supernatural" is also circular.

Royking asked: "You can't comment on the content of my post?"
Where have you been? There have been several comments on the "content" of your post - mostly pointing out that it's SPAM for your book.
You didn't make any grand claims, you didn't bring anything new to the discussion - you just spewed nonsense and seem to be surprised that you didn't start any deep discussions with it.

This is a tough crowd.
I look forward to spamming you all with amazon links to my book.

I realized one day that I had always been taught never to believe something without proof, except for God of course, and started wondering why the Almighty was exempt from this rule. I now am aware that there is a microscopic amount of evidence for the existence of god, and there is a mountain of evidence against.
To answer your question, blind faith promotes thoughtless obedience without questioning, whereas atheism/agnosticism promotes a clear headed thought process on the workings of the world.

There are a lot of things you believe without proof. Most things you believe on authority anyway.

"Most things you believe on authority anyway."
Including, it would seem, this particular claim.

How does that meme go?
"James G has a green duck on his head. Your argument is invalid."

You´re just jealous of my stylish headwear.

Insanely jealous. Though if I were to have a duck, it'd be chartreuse.

This made me laugh.
I would not have a green duck. I would have a magenta badger.

It's common sense. I didn't think I needed to post a full on argument about the claim.
But hell, you let me know when you rely on your senses over the testimony of another on things like... I don't know... Pluto really being out there...

I didn't think I needed to post a full on argument about the claim.

Do you need me to show the math on how 2+2=4 also?

Numbers don't exist.

A really tough crowd.

That isn't a tough crowd. That would be an ignorant crowd. If you need me to explain how you haven't actually *seen* "Jupiter's moons" or such... then... wow... that's a bit sad...
don't ya think?
Posted 3 years ago # -
What's a bit sad is you haven't seen Jupiter's moons.
They're awesome, let me tell you.
Posted 3 years ago # -
ha. I have only seen the images sent to me via the satellites. have you seen them yourself? with your eyes? how do you know they were jupiter's moons?

Down this dreary path solipsism lies gurgling in it's lonely den.

@Ty
But how do I know that you even wrote that, come to think of it how do you even know you wrote that?
Posted 3 years ago # -
Don't be idiots guys.
Just think about it for a minute. Or three if that's what it takes you.
