Anybody read "10 Things Your Minister Wants to Tell You"?

Has anyone read "10 Things Your Minister Wants to Tell You: (But Can't, Because He Needs the Job)", by Rev. Oliver "Buzz" Thomas?

I just got the audio book from the library and tried to listen to it. Unfortunately, it's read by the author, who sounds like you'd expect a guy named "Buzz" to sound. I got through the introduction without screaming, but the folksiness of his reading coupled with the breezy writing made me give up halfway through the first chapter.

I could probably be much better educated if my irritation threshold weren't so low.

Pretty much what you'd expect from a moderate-to-liberal preacher. Chapter one explains how Genesis isn't supposed to be taken literally, chapter eight explains that one doesn't need to be a Christian to be a good person, and so forth. It's pretty much a moderate response to fundamentalism.

It's chock full of folksy, though. Lines like, "betcha didn't know that!" and "Coerced religion is an oxymoron, kind of like jumbo shrimp."
