   Seeing that this is a pretty international community, I thought that it would be a good idea to share music from where we originally come from.

   this is a band called Rowwen Heze and they sing in a regional dutch dialect called limburgs. They are pretty popular and make some good music.

   This slightly famous band started next door to my home town. Their blend of quirkiness and existential dread perfectly capture what it means to live in Rhode Island.

   Also, and I did not realize this, we apparently invented church organ music.

   Slightly off topic, but my favorite local Thai restaurant sometimes plays vidoes of awful, syruppy westernized Thai pop music. Wailing violins and goo goo eyed waifs oggling each other with passion galore. I asked the owner if she listens to more "traditional" Thai music, and she responded only when her mother is in the restaurant as it drives her nuts. :)

   The only band from Vacaville I am aware of is Lime Colony.

   Well, anyone who's ever heard of 'samba', that's us :) Also, Chico Buarque is a popular dude. As well as Caetano Veloso. I don't particularly like them (well, I do like Chico Buarque, but it's not something I listen daily), but the music's good. I don't particularly listen to Brazilian music for some reason; though I like it, it's never been among my favorites. We've some pretty cool stuff, though.
