   I've only been around these parts for a little over a year. Sometimes I see a random new comment pop up on a post from 2009. I've previously chalked it up to lost wanderers who are into necrothreading. But as so many of you who have been here for years often bemoan, the old days of yore were the good old days. I occasionally scroll through some of these old posts, and there is some good stuff there. It also makes me miss regular commenting by Ty and LRA.

   So now I'm interested. What are the good old posts that are worth a read for those of us who haven't been here from the beginning? Please link me and I would love to read them over.

   The tags can be your friend.

   Pretty much every thread that has over 100 replies (indicating, at the least, a lively discussion) can be found here.

   Some of my favorite threads, perhaps somewhat less than shockingly, are listed here, under the Philosophy tag.

   This was probably my favorite thread overall.

   OT:

   We're over 550 posts on this thread now, and it seems to be a record for UF. By a huge margin. The next-largest thread is "The Abortion Topic...", with 324 posts.

   Congratulations, Kodie! To you goes the honor of having started the longest thread ever.

   Lol. Good time... still had more than half to go, and continued in another thread.

   I inadvertently started a lively PC-Mac discussion with one of my first posts here: http://www.patheos.com/forums/unreasonablefaith/topic.php?id=1428

   The virusy computer in question was never the same after the virus was cleaned up. The files were all safe though. That computer was replaced with another PC a few months ago, which has given us no trouble so far.

   I look forward to reading through your monster threads forum-side. The library has been slow in getting my inter-library loan request and it's always nice to have some reading material.

   How about blog side?

   2 things to add: google finds threads I'm thinking of a lot better than the patheos search fields (either of them), and b) google "unreasonable faith" and terms like abortion, free speech, conspiracy, or any other term you find interesting, but those are the megathreads. Also look up top under the heading of "writings". Daniel used to post in-depth analyses of religious topics. On the original blog, there were tabs for essential readings for Christians/Atheists/Everyone; and at some point there was a huge thread under the "About" topic, but I don't know what happened to it.

    I made it through the blog post of despair. Deep and poetic. Very nice overall. Not sure about the detour of question-asker must be a fake atheist. But hey, it's the internet. Whatcha gonna do?

    And OMG, Kodie, on the 1000+ commented thread. I looked at the first few pages. Good work.

    I had a particularly convoluted but fun convo with an Anglican vicar, but can't remember the context or location. I just remember his constant insistence that somehow "Love grounded in the being of Jesus" was an appropriate metaphysical starting point to replace naturalism.

    Some of the crazies are also entertaining, like that woman who believed her year in a mental hospital was an infiltration into the satanic world of clinical psychology. I did feel sorry for her at the end, but she provided some great conversation.

    I... think it was just when you clicked on "about" on the old site - there was a massive thread of probably thousands of posts, if I'm not completely mistaken.

    It look like comments have been disabled on the "about" section and that may have wiped the existing comments. The Apparent errors forum tread was created after one of the trolls infesting the "about" finally got the point that the forum is the place to have these discussions.
