We’ll assume for the purposes of this one that you get some say in what you’re doing when you take on a leadership role. I know it doesn’t always work like that, but sometimes it does. Even if something falls on you unexpectedly these pointers about how to get started will be somewhat relevant.
Quite often the calling is simply to ‘do something’. That may come from external demand, quite often is comes from within. The desire to be part of a Pagan community can often be what moves people to try and start something. If there’s no coven, no hearth, no grove or moot where you are, and you want one, need one with all your heart and soul, then often the only answer is to try and set one up.
If you’ve never been part of a moot or working group and don’t even have a point of reference for what that could look like, this is intimidating stuff. Will anyone turn up? Are you about to expose yourself in public in ways that are going to turn out to be uncomfortable?
