Basic Concepts of Judaism: Part 3

The primary way of knowing G-d is by learning his attributes -- the way in which He works and interacts with us. We can see these in the Holy writings of the Torah and the Bible (known to the Christian world as the "Old Testament"). We can see them in the commandments that we have been given to keep. And we can learn about them in the teachings of the sages and their delving into the deepest meanings of the writings. In the words of King Solomon (Ecclesiastes 12:13), "The end of the matter, when all has been heard, fear G-d and keep His commandments, for that is all of Man." We can take it as good advice from the wisest of all men that this is a good place to start, and eventually also to finish.
