No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act

Or to Genesis 3:16:

To the woman He said: "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in pain you shall bring forth children; your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you."

Or any number of passages found in the Bible, which is the foundation of belief for many of the bill's sponsors and co-sponsors. That these Representatives are willing to impose that sectarian viewpoint on the rest of America through the legislative process is the problem.

The conflict between faithful individuals and a faith-neutral government isn't new to American politics; legislators are often inspired by their religious beliefs to become public servants, but swear an oath to a document that states unequivocally, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." But when those beliefs conflict with the equal representation all of a district's constituents, including those of no faith at all, they have no place within the legislative process. Nor does the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act.
