{"id":16461,"date":"2012-08-10T20:39:02","date_gmt":"2012-08-10T19:39:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/adrianwarnock.com\/?p=16461"},"modified":"2024-11-03T05:50:42","modified_gmt":"2024-11-03T05:50:42","slug":"the-scandal-of-6-million-abortions-to-save-the-lives-of-143-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/adrianwarnock\/2012\/08\/the-scandal-of-6-million-abortions-to-save-the-lives-of-143-women\/","title":{"rendered":"The scandal of 6 million abortions to save 143 women&#8217;s lives"},"content":{"rendered":"<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><head><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><\/head><body><p><figure id=\"attachment_40904\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-40904\" style=\"width: 768px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-40904\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.patheos.com\/blogs\/sites\/298\/2024\/05\/elderlyladyplusbaby1200-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Predicting Births Marriages and Deaths is Dangerous\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-40904\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Every life is precious to God Image: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unsplash.com\/photos\/an-older-woman-holding-a-babys-hand-y0OAmd_COUM?utm_content=creditCopyText&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=unsplash\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Unsplash<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>In the UK we have a peculiar form of <strong>hypocrisy about abortion<\/strong>. \u00a0When the law allowing abortion was passed (note to my American readers, this was passed by an act of parliament, not a ruling of unelected \u00a0judges) \u00a0it was argued that abortion was needed to save the lives of women. \u00a0Even the most traditional pro-life Christians would agree that <strong>if there is truly a risk to the life of a woman<\/strong> (eg a ruptured ectopic pregnancy) then abortion should be allowed. \u00a0Really it should probably not even be called abortion in such a case, it is simply a procedure to <strong>save at least one of the two lives that are at imminent risk of expiry.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hard examples make bad law<\/strong>. \u00a0And, it may surprise you to learn that <strong>6 MILLION aborted babies later<\/strong>, we are gradually learning the truth that we have tried to pretend is not the case. \u00a0We really do have abortion available for any reason here in the UK. \u00a0<strong>How many of those lives were extinguished to save their mothers life or avoid permanent severe disability?<\/strong> \u00a0We now know thanks to Lord Alton, who got a reply in parliament: \u00a0the truth is<strong> a shocking 143 cases since 1968 fell into this category.<\/strong> \u00a0That is less than\u00a00.006 percent!<\/p>\n<p>Even if you broaden this to look at abortion which \u201c<strong>would involve the risk to the life of the woman, greater than if the pregnancy were terminated<\/strong>\u201d only <strong>a further\u00a023,778 (0.37%)<\/strong> fall into that group.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abortion in the UK has claimed the lives of approximately 10% of our entire population<\/strong>. \u00a0No wonder we now face an aging population with insufficient children being born to provide taxes and care for baby boomers as they grow old. \u00a0We face a catastrophe of gigantic proportions. \u00a0And, this social engineering was all justified on a lie that <strong>\u201cmany\u201d women needed abortion for medical reasons<\/strong>. \u00a0Some do, and presumably that figure lies somewhere \u00a0between 143 and 23,778 in forty years in a population that has grown to 60 million in that same time.<\/p>\n<p>The rest? \u00a0Well, they were social abortions done for the convenience of society (not, you will note, just the women involved but the men who get to shirk their responsibility and the government that doesn\u2019t have to provide education, etc). \u00a0<strong>Fascinatingly our law doesn\u2019t officially allow abortion on demand.<\/strong> \u00a0But abortion on demand is precisely what we have had for decades. \u00a0Will the eventual realisation of this fact actually lead to any changes? Probably not. \u00a0In this case the stable door has been well and truly \u00a0blown of its hinges and the horse long since escaped.<\/p>\n<p>You can <a
