Postscript Posthaste: Fallible Prophecy?<\/a>: \u201cWhen I read this post by Adrian Warnock this morning, I just had to respond. Particularly because he has backed himself into such a corner, he\u2019s bound to come out the other side as either a cessationist himself or a very inconsistent charismatic (if he hasn\u2019t achieved that title already).\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

He then goes on to talk about scripture-forming prophecy and claim that because scripture-forming prophecy was infallible then all prophecy is infallible. Once again I concede that if you are talking about infallible scripture forming prophecy then it CEASED the day the scriptures were complete.<\/p>\n

However, what of all the prophecy that wasnt in the bible? Also what of the testing of prophecy, NOT prophets. It seems clear to me that 1 Corinthians is expecting there to be a mixture of revelation, error and generlaly harmless effects of too much cheese in the average members prophecy.<\/p>\n

One of these days I will give some examples of modern prophecy and other gifts that I have personally experienced. I will do that though when the cessationists finally start to show me what they feel from the bible itself.<\/p>\n

Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said. If a revelation is made to another sitting there, let the first be silent.
